Curious connections

The Museum comes to CERN

What do the feathers of an Eider duck have to do with survival blankets? Can scientists follow the tracks left by particles like they can those of dinosaurs? Did you know that ants form large collaborative communities, just like humans?

From 26 October 2024 to 2 March 2025, the exhibition Curious connections: The Museum comes to CERN will draw some surprising parallels between particle physics and life and earth sciences.

Hosted in CERN's new temporary exhibition space at the Globe of Science and Innovation, the exhibition is the result of a collaboration between CERN and Geneva’s Natural History Museum. It showcases some of the Natural History Museum’s collections while the Museum is closed for renovation.

From invisible particles to extinct creatures – come and discover the parallels between the human scale and the infinitely small.

The youngest visitors, from the age of eight upwards, will be able to explore the exhibition as part of a fun trail.
